We left Las Vegas this morning, and I've gotta say, neither Jon-Mychal nor I were too upset about leaving. The 113 degree heat would shortly be watered down by the soaring temps of Death Valley, our next stop.
Death Valley was very interesting...it is a place of extremes. Nothing is there, except the lowest point in the USA: Badwater, which is 282 feet below sea level. If only 50 inches of rain fell a year, there would be a lake and forest-covered mountains. Alas, that is not the case, and Camilla clocked a high of 118 degrees while we were there. We also saw the highest gas prices so far...$6.11!! At least we were smart and fueled up before heading into Valley. We did splurge for $8 milkshakes, which were a rip off, but excellent...particularly after the sign told us for 20 miles to shut off the A/C so you don't overheat. They were serious...there were 5 stations with radiator water along this 20 mile stretch! Luckily, Camilla did just fine...we were a little hot though.
We made it to Monica and Rigo's house for dinner. Sadly, Kofi was sleeping, but we peered in at him over the crib's edge. We will see him tomorrow though!

Low point: Give Las Vegas more high rollers like you (and your parents) and they would have to turn the lights down. Can you imagine the tragedy of not being able to read by Luxor's light 10 miles up in Space?
High point: You had enough gambling money left to pay for the milk shakes. Love
