Day 18, July 25--Boise V.I.P.s

Woke up late this morning, while our host, Nathaniel, went off to work at "Boise Weekly." We drove out to a "Road Food" restaurant, which was a bust...a chain restaurant took over the space, but we ate there anyway. Not great. Oh well, what can you do?

Then the hunt was on for cowboy boots for me. The problem being that I can't exactly put my finger on what I want, I just know. I want a pair of black boots, with something fun on them...not just black on black (because my brown ones are brown on brown). Alas, despite visiting all of the hard-core-I-actually-work-on-a-ranch stores, there was nothing that suited my fancy. So, I have decided to throw in the towel, and if I come across them, I do. If not, c'est la vie.

After unsuccessful boot buying, we took a steep walk up Camel's Back Park (I took a slide down part of it, accidentally...Idaho hurts!), and then off to procure some ice cream. We walked around downtown Boise, the city park, and the art museum gift shop (the main exhibit was on cockroaches, which both of us though we would pass up) before picking up Nathaniel for dinner at the City Grill.

But, the highlight of the day was definitely our free concert ending. Due to our beloved News Editor of the Boise Weekly, we scored V.I.P. tickets to a free concert at the Knitting Factory. And as it turns out, the band, EqualEyes, was actually really good. None of us purchased the CD, but it would not have been a waste if we had.

We're off in the morning to Utah, saying goodbye to the Hoffman estate, and all of the fun we've had in the land of potatoes!
