Day 10, July 16 (3,059 miles)-- Jellystone!
Actually, the above shot is in Grand Teton national park, which adjoins Yellowstone. We only have service because we are sitting at the super chic Jackson Lake Lodge...most places here have no service whatsoever. We left the Shoshone National Forest campsite (Elk Fork) this morning--thankfully no bear encounters--and headed into Yellowstone.
Wow. It is huge; it is beautiful. We got a VERY far-off glimpse of a black bear on the way into the main loop. There are bison everywhere...we are just waiting to see a moose! Every once in a while, you get a whiff of sulphur from all of the geothermic features of the park. Fun fact of the day: these geothermic pockets are almost as acidic as battery acid! More about the park as we learn it...

What a fantastic trip! Don't miss the Old Faithful. Love, D
I gotta ask - i'm addicted to your blog, by the way, since i'm stuck at a desk instead of out adventuring - why are you going through Phoenix? That place is awful in summer....unless you want discount shoes, there's a fabulous place for that.
