Day 11-- July 17 (3,263 miles): Take a Hike

Not only is Yellowstone one of the US' premier national parks, but it is also a "World Heritage Site". What that means exactly, I don't know, but if you haven't figured out already, this place is brimming with beauty that needs to be seen first-hand. However, since our audience are folks staring at a monitor screen, these words and .jpgs will have to suffice. Speaking of the contrasts between technology and nature, this picture and post were made possible from marrying one with the other. Bunsen Peak stands 8,654ft in the Mammoth Hot Springs part of the park. Adrienne and I hiked 1,300ft to get to the top. Once there, we shared the view with a few climbers, chubby chipmunks, and telephone antennae. Thanks go out to Ma Bell and Mother Nature!

In other news, we seem to be in the minority as tent campers, almost everyone in the park makes beddy-bye in a massive RVs or they are shacklng up at one of the many park lodges. That's fine by me, because that leaves us more quality snuggling time with Russell, our snoring next-door bison.
Next up: Old Faithful and more furry friends

Had Moose Drool beer at the bar at Survival School in Spokane. See if you can find Bear Whiz Beer... Keep a tight hold on you pic-in-ic baskets!
