Day 19, July 25-- The long and (somewhat) winding road

Said goodbye this morning to Nathaniel for what is our longest drive yet--from Boise to Arches National Park in southern Utah. The landscape is fascinating: huge mesas and plateaus rise up out of nothingness. And it is hot. The highest temp that Camilla has clocked has been 106 degrees.

Two of my current favorite activities: waiting for my husband's newest road rage obscenity (recent fave: "get a license and learn to drive!" Anyone else see how timely that remark is?), and trying to photograph the sporadic lightning in the distance. I have been wildly unsuccessful, but my attempts have given me an even greater respect for the nature photographers that I already adore!

PS--Got to our aptly titled "Goose Island" campsite, and are now sitting in the Moab Brewery, getting some much needed grub. Hopefully, our tent won't have blown away in the crazy wind!

OK...oh my god...those are definitely ticks...and I DON'T think they are on Jon-Mychal. This is the most wonderful (yet scary for a mom) travel log that I could ever imagine. I actually sit here and look at your pictures and get tears in my eyes - I'm so very, very happy that the two of you are able to experience this together. Love you both lots and PLEASE get those tick things looked at...you have to get the mouthpart out too! Moma

Love all the pictures! But I have to ask, what was the one of Adey all scraped up? Also, I'm SUPER jealous you got to hit up the corn museum. We thought about re-routing our trip to see that and the creationist museum (it's crazy, check it out). Can't wait to see you!! xoxo, Renee
